This morning we left Pop’s place at Blakeview at 7.45, intending to do a long ride. Straight down to the Stuart O’Grady and did the ‘Gawler circuit’, to add extra kms before pushing past the RAAF Base then called into Macca’s at Greenfields. We had already down 55kms by then so a coffee and milk shake, while chatting to two interesting people who have just began riding E Bikes was a welcome break. We pushed onto Pop’s Church and filled our water bottles then continued down Portrush Road, turning left onto Magill Road heading up the hill for a few kms. We swung around onto Kensington Road and followed that straight through town. We were intending to go down to Glenelg but instead we did a loop on Marion Road & Anzac Hwy. it was hot and humid today, Pop decided to take in some salt on the chips at Hungry Jacks. From there we made our way to Cross Road and headed up to the tole gate corner. We flew all the way down Portrush Road, I really enjoyed that bit. We headed for home, stopping at 3 different Servo’s to drench ourselves, which helped to keep us cool and hydrated. The last 1 1/2 hours was a head wind but that’s OK. I think I wore Pop out today, he was pooped when we got back to his place.
Today’s stats 142kms 5 hours 45 minutes
