Day 4

105 on the Park in Bordertown looked after us very well last night. We had a great take-a-way meal for dinner sitting outside the motel. Very cold this morning when we pushed off at 8.00 am (4 degrees) but the sun was out so it quickly warmed up. We travelled on some country roads for the first 15 kms. We passed a swamp that Pop said he used to catch Yabbies in when he was a kid. One farm we went passed had a centre pivot irrigation system, Pop explained how the whole thing works, it was interesting. After the first hour we had a short break at Wirriga before pushing hard to Keith where we had morning tea break. There was no one around in Keith. We pushed hard at a very fast pace along the Dukes Hwy due to how flat the area is and a favourable wind. Next stop was Tintinara for lunch and again nobody about. Back on the bike for the final 30 kms to Coonalpyn. Today was our fastest 100 kms by a long way, finishing at an average speed of 29.3 kmph. I am still feeling good but Pops legs are pretty sore. One more long day and then final push into Adelaide Oval. We will fill you in on our final day tomorrow.

Today’s stats 117 kms 3 hours 59 minutes
