Day 3

After a good night at the Nhill Caravan Park we woke up to a chilly morning and set off around 8.00 am. We took the back roads through to just outside Kaniva and followed the Western Hwy into our first break. Along with my support crew, waiting for us was Pop’s Aunty Mary at the Fauna Park in Kaniva. Some snacks and power went down a treat as we had already done 49 kms by then. From Kaniva we pushed to the border, not knowing what we would come across there. We made it across the border and to our great surprise, we are able to continue on. So another quick break there we headed into Bordertown and stopped at the Bakery for lunch. The shoulder we rode on from the border, Pop said it was like riding on cobble stones. From Bordertown we road out to Mundulla and back to add extra kms. Today we saw lots of road kill, one particular dead kangaroo was rotten and absolutely stank. I really enjoyed those back roads again today, hardly any traffic at all and great scenery.
