It was wet and foggy this morning but it’s February now and we need to ride so we left from Blakeview ready to go up some hills. We headed towards the Grove Way and up we went in the fog, it was very damp as well. Through Golden Grove and down hill then back up for a second time it was raining pretty heavy this time but we were a bit quicker going up. Another loop around and back up the hill for a third time, it was still raining but I felt alright. This time we took a different route down, turning right onto Montacute Road. Just around the corner there is a nice shoulder but then it disappeared and we had to go right to the edge of the road and I slipped of the bitumen onto the gravel and my wheel got caught on the edge of the bitumen and I came off my bike. I’m okay, we were grateful to a nice lady, Ashley who just happened to be a nurse, she saw it happen and stopped to help. Ashley cleaned up the blood from my knee and checked that I was okay. It was still raining so we decided to have some lunch and head back to Blakeview. It was nice to get back and have a hot shower and a snack. I’m gaining confidence with hills and hope the weather is better tomorrow so that we can have another ride. Pop had a big job cleaning the bikes up this afternoon.
Today’s stats 87.7 kms, 3 hrs 59 mins. Elevation gain 982m
