Warm up ride

The Tour Down Under Challenge ride is nearly here so Pop & I thought we would do a warm up ride late afternoon/evening today. Nan & Pop were already at my place today and being a Wednesday we hoped to catch up with some of the Gawler Wheelers on the Stuart O’Grady bike track. So from my place in Virginia we took a long cut to Gawler and rode around the streets a bit to clock up Kms and tick over some time before heading to the start of the track. No Wheelers there tonight so into a howling head wind we pushed. Pop and I took turns in front to shield the wind, I was surprised at how efficient we were. We achieved a solid 25.5 kph average in the end. Sometimes we do that Wednesday evening ride to try and hook up with other riders, I don’t always add those rides to the blog. I’m really looking forward to the Tour Challenge on Friday, starting from Mount Torrens, through Mannum onto the finish in Murray Bridge. Don’t tell Pop but I’m super keen to beat him to the finish line.

Today’s stats 60.1 kms 2 hours 21 minutes
