After a couple of sessions with my bike on Pop’s trainer to learn about how the gears work and best sitting positions, this morning we were off for our first ride. It was cold and a bit wet when we left Pop’s place in Blakeview. We headed down Craigmore Road to the Stuart O’Grady Bike track we turned left on the bike track and rode to the end (Port Wakefield Rd) then turned around and rode back along the track all the way to Gawler. Just before we arrived in Gawler Pop got a puncture in his front tire, he put in a new tube and we were off again. When we got to Gawler we turned around and rode back along the track and then up the hill to Pop’s place. When we got back and checked our distance and time it was exciting to find out that in 3hours and 3minutes of riding time we had travelled 60.3 km’s. I was feeling pretty tired and hot even though we got quite wet in the rain. Pop and I are pleased with our effort.
